THE HISTORY

The accomplishment of the Arches of Bread, also called Easter Arches, has been handed down from generation to generation to this day, under the careful direction of the two Brotherhoods devoted to the Most Blessed Sacrament and to the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Signurara and Madunnara, and it was enriched more and more by several details. Since the Seventies, this folk tradition has been changed in a feast whose preparation lasts about three months, involving the entire population and going out from the village. During the previous and the following months to the Easter Sunday, culmination of the feast, San Biagio Platani becomes an en plein air workshop where San Biagio Platani people work incessantly.
